a wonderful one. God chose you and your family to go to America. Continue to succeed by His will. Keep your ways straight and love your Lord, and
He will always guide you on a path of wealth and righteousness. Read the bible and you will understand such things as the ones I speak of.

some dreams are fullfilled by the sacrifices we make. I feel your success in my personal development trying to find the true happiness. I've honored my family with my pursuit of every dream I have regardless of my doubt or fears. we all owe it to our parents to do what our heart desires because if we settle for just surviving then we have given up on what it takes to be trully living. Thank you, I've forgotten where I've come from but you've reminded me. I'll never forget to give back what was trully given to me.

Hi, it is great to hear about the wonderful opportunity for new life that was given to this Lao family in the United States. May many blessings be given to those who help others in time of need, and especially to those who need it.
I am studying a history paper at Univerrsity about the conflict in Indochina, and have been amazed and dumbstruck by the atrocities that occured over there during the Vietnam war. I am doing an assignment on the 'forgotten war in laos' and to read this story helps to give me a perspective from the side of the innocent people who were affected by it.

Thank you.

This is a very inspiring story as it affects every Lao-American. The struggles that you and your family endured are shared by all of us. I am proud of you, and your story has reminded me how proud I am to be Lao.

I must admit that was a completely overwhelming and comforting story. I too, have become involved with the south-asian community in my city. I once dated a women from vietnam, and listened to detailed stories of the horrors and experiences during the war and her never ending adventure of coming to the USA. I also met, befriended and non-formally adopted a young boy whom used to play with her kids. He was eight years old then, and when I found he had no mother or father and came to America with his "uncle" we decided to become a part of his life and I took it upon myself to becoming the Father image his uncle cared not to be. While he still lives with his uncle, I have become an integrel part of their life, and because of this, I also became intertwined with the entire Vietnamese population here. He is now 14 years old and doing extremely well in high school. He is a fairly independent, well adjusted and respectful young gentleman. It has been the most incredible experience of my life to have helped Tom in his times of need. He has expressed many times over, just what it has meant to him. He is a permanant part of my family now, and I his. I have since involved myself in the lives of many people of the vietnamese community in my city . Each have become greatful friends who have given back to me a thousand times over, for the times I have helped them. I will continue to help as best I can. I urge you to do the same. Thanks for sharing your kindness.
