New Beginnings Maternity Home is a safe, secure, supervised and structured living environment bound by positive, decent expectations and rules where young women will truly begin to internalize good behavior. Many of these girls need to be taken out of their current circle of friends and environment that got them into the situation they are now in. Leaving them in that environment could mean continued drug and alcohol use during the rest of their pregnancy. New Beginnings is remotely located and far away from their friends and current circumstances to help fulfill that need. Our purpose is to see them safely through their pregnancy and delivery, providing proper nutrition and exercise, to provide counseling and therapy to help them through issues, to continue their education, and to prepare them for the next step in their lives. Birth mothers choosing adoption will be encouraged to develop a customized adoption plan for their children as well as for themselves. Birth mothers opting for adoption choose and can even meet the adoptive family they select. They are provided pre-adoptive and post-adoptive counseling to help them through the emotional adoption process. Caring staff are always available to offer support. If the young woman and her family chooses single parenting, we offer a variety of programs to help prepare her for her future. In all cases, birth mothers will be prepared for childbirth through classes and instruction by our certified childbirth educator and Doula who also helps coach them through the delivery. Their pregnancies will be closely monitored by our licensed Medical Director. Professional counseling will be provided to all the girls. New Beginnings concept is not simply another place for teens to come and have their babies. It is a stable, nurturing environment dedicated to helping teens move ahead with their lives by finishing school, acquiring a sense of responsibility, learning to be good parents, and to avoid repeat pregnancies outside of marriage. We believe that one by one, we can help each young woman through a difficult time in their life, offering them positive choices and hope for their future. Our name implies exactly what we offer, a chance to begin again with hope and dignity... a chance to prepare for the future and to get their life back on track. Our loving and caring staff are dedicated to the individual needs and success of each girl. It can truly be a New Beginning. |
